March 2007 -
We've
been struggling of late, with many players absent and more often
sick or looking after sick family.
I am
confident that we can regain our form soon though and we have some
great games to look forward to.
We had
a really enjoyable match against Daventry last week end, some of our
players were a little disappointed to have drawn.....It was not so
long ago that we would have been thrilled with this result and a win
would have been unimaginable.......just shows how far we have come
in the last three years.

While the
Cat's away!
I have been
on holiday for the first two league games of this new year and left
strict instructions to be followed in my absence. Carrina Pinney
stepped into my shoes and captained the Ladies in two exciting
games.
Taking the
lead against Wellingborough's I's and holding them to a draw upto
half time will have given the Olney girls a real boost.
The girls
drew with the Wildcatz, this week end, gaining what could be a
crucial point.
The fight to
stay in this division is going to go right to the last round and the
rest of this season is going to be exciting. I for one am looking
forward and relishing the challenges ahead.
Happy New
Year

Congratulations to Tamsin on the safe
arrival of Joel Edward, hope to see you at training in the new Year
Tamsin, and I am looking forward to a cuddle with Joel soon.
We end the year
with a fond farewell to our coach Alex.
I would like to
thank Alex for coaching us to such a good level and we all wish you
well in the future. You will be greatly missed Alex thank you for
your; hard work, skill, dedication and patience. We will try hard to
keep up the high standards that you have set us.
We have had so
much to celebrate in the past few weeks; births, birthdays, and to
cap off 2006, our highest league position (mid season) ever in the
history of Olney Ladies Hockey club.
Just what this
Captain had wished for.
Merry Christmas

November 2006 -
Four weeks in a
row and four 3-2 results (two wins two defeats).
Team sprit seems
to running high as three of our players celebrate 40th birthdays
this week and we look forward to the match against Earls Barton this
Saturday it should be a cracker.

November 2006 -
We managed to move up into the middle of
the table this week after a thrilling game with Kettering II’s and
other results going our way. The Olney players are showing increased
match fitness and have been playing some high quality hockey. The
standard of hockey in the first division is far better and the Olney
girls are proving that they are more than worthy of their place in
this division, however we still have some hard games to play before
Christmas so we are not getting too carried away with the dizzy
heights of sixth place just yet.
9th October 2006 -
The new season
has started with a bang, two games and two defeats so far. I am far
from worried though as the standard of hockey is so much higher than
last season and far more enjoyable. The pitch side crèche has
expanded to accommodate Erin and the Twinwoods and I wish Tamsin all
the best as she looks forward to the birth of her baby in November.
